Now that Fall and Thanksgiving are over,
I move into Christmas mode...pretty much overnight!
Unlike my Fall decor which was more subtle and minimal...
Christmas is anything but subtle in my home.
I LOVE Christmas...
the bling
the silver and white
the green and red
the lights and candles
the sparkly trees
All OF IT...
but especially vintage ornaments!
Do you think I have a problem??
I can hardly resist the pretty balls...picking up a couple here and there
as I find them. They tend to be very inexpensive too.
Many of these vintage ornaments are so delicate, they can break easily...
So...I have to keep buying to replace the broken ones!
I love filling all kinds of containers with these ornaments...
Vintage Tins
Bowls
Canning Jars
You name it...I can fill it!
I guess there's no such as thing as too many.
I love the charm they add to my holiday decor.
Blessings of the Season,
Mary Alice

Wow, what a great collection. Yea, you may have a tiny problem, but they sure are pretty. Reminds me of my grandmother's big tree covered in those when I was a kid. I hope to start mine Monday.
ReplyDeleteYour collection is so pretty!! Thanks for sharing it with us. I have seen so many pretty vintage ornaments out there, but have resisted the urge to start another collection.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
I love the way you decorate! When I was at our antique mall last week there were oodles of these vintage ornaments. Now I wish I would have picked some up. :o) Hope you are well and had a wonderful Thanksgiving. ~Ann
ReplyDeleteOOOhhh, I am in awe of your collection. What a wonderful bunch! I too collect them, they remind me of my childhood. I grew up with a vintage tree and vintage ornaments. Luv them. I have some from Grandma that mean the world to me.. I place them in her wedding silver on glass bowl every year as we remember her. Each ornament I have bought or inherited recalls such fun memories.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yours!!!
Cheers, Gee
You have a wonderful collection of vintage ornaments and I love the way you have displayed them. I have a lot of them too and just happened to break 3 of them today while decorating our tree!! I was so upset as 2 of them were my favourites. :( Blessings, Pamela
ReplyDeleteI have a vintage ornament collection, too. I love yours. Some of them I had growing up and I still use them now. I, too, fill all the jars, bowls, etc., I can get my hands on! Can't have too many I always say!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your vintage ornament collection! And you display them so nicely :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Stephanie
What a beautiful collection you have! It makes me want to start my own! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE them!! I just pulled out all mine (not nearly as many as you) ! They are so fun. I only wish that long ago I would have kept all the vintage ornaments from my Grandmas tree. Instead we sold them at a YARD SALE!!!!! The mere thought makes me cringe. I was young and naive then:)
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great weekend
xo~ Cheryl

ReplyDeleteI love the old ornaments, too. Shiny Brites are my favorite. I never thought of putting them in canning jars, thanks for the idea! Jean
ReplyDeleteI just love the contrast of shiny ornaments with shabby containers!
ReplyDeleteI can't resist those old ornaments either. I love the sparkle and shine they add to our homes during the holiday season! You've got a wonderful collection.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Mary Alice!! I adore vintage bulbs as well!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

wow..what a wonderful collection! and you bring those bulbs to life in the containers. beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThose are fabulous ornaments. I love the vintage ones, too. I have some that belonged to my parents and some from husband's parents. Love them.
ReplyDeleteOh what a fabulous collection!! 15 years ago when I had my store I had all my Moms antique Christmas decorations. I had them in the store window being displayed. One day this lady came in and bought the tree and all the decorations on it. At that time I wasn't collecting. I get so upset now thinking that I sold them. I never thought in a million years that they would be worth something. I did keep mind you ones that were of sentimental value.
ReplyDeleteVintage ornaments are wonderful. Love them in the jars. Think I'll toddle along now and put some in jars, myself! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love vintage ornaments like that. You're lucky to have such a large collection. They will look beautiful in your home!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing collection. Makes me want to dive right in and roll around in all that vintage goodness. They are lovely. What a great reminder to find multiple ways to display ornaments-I wouldn't have thought of inside the jars. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful collection of ornaments. I especially love the icicle bulbs. Very pretty. Don't worry - some things you can never have enough of. Keep on collecting!
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of vintage ornaments - love the look in the metal container!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love vintage ornaments and the way you scattered them everywhere!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary Alice, thanks to you for the inspiration photos with ornaments. One of your containers is similar to one I have wondered what to put in it. Now, I know what I need to make it light up a bit. I'm visiting from Make It Pretty Monday.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas,
Helen
I agree that vintage ornaments are so much prettier than the modern ornaments! Unfortunately, I only have a handful of some vintage ornaments. Where do you find yours?
ReplyDeleteI think you need more. They are beautiful Mary Alice. I just took snaps of some Shiny Brites I found this summer. xo, olive
ReplyDeleteA girl can never have too many!!
ReplyDeleteYou have a gorgeous collection!!
I love the old fashioned ornaments...remind me of the ones from childhood...I especially love your displays of them in the tins!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your post on my blog list, I thought they were candies. :-) They are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWow Mary Alice! Your collection is fantastic! I love old ornaments! No matter how thry try to remake them, there is nothing that sparkles and is quite as pretty as the original! Love all the ways you displayed them too! Enjoy your decorating! Hugs, Leena

Just found your blog... That post is so beautiful and Christmasy... I will visit often...
ReplyDeleteCiao for now...
Mary Alice, if you ask me it's a good problem to have. Love how you fill so many fun containers. I have a small collection and love filling things also. My collection doesn't hold a candle to yours, but I love them! Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
Well, I for one love your problem! So pretty! You will be one of the features tomorrow at Make it Pretty Monday at The Dedicated House. Pop on in and grab a feature button. Hope to see your prettiness again on Monday. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
ReplyDeleteLove your collection!!! I too buy them, but not nearly as many as you and I limit my spending to $3 per ornament, so I don't have as many really pretty ones as you do. I try to get a few each year at the Scott's show in Columbus, Ohio where there is always a nice collection. I just purchased a lot of green and silver ones to decorate my kitchen with. They make such a simple statement without a lot of work.
