Working at Rust and Feathers can be a
dangerous place for me...I get to see all the new
vintage goodies as they come into the shop...and some
are very hard to resist!
are very hard to resist!
If it's a wire container...even better!
Vintage dish drainers make great display pieces.
Three ironstone cups fit perfectly in the utensil basket.
Perfect piece to display pretty plates.
I'm sure all you creative minds can come up with
other uses for these vintage dish drainers.
Maybe a desk organizer for files and pencils....
Thanks for visiting,
Mary Alice

Love it. What is it about rusty things we love? I have a rusty table in the garden and a friend asked me why I didn't paint it,she just doesn't get me at all.LOL x
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your style, Lady! The vintage dish drainer and the sparkling white dishes are stunning! I recently found an old wire dish drainer but not half as old as yours. It has personality plus! So glad you plan to share them with us at Country Whites Weekend. They're "farmhouse perfect."

Dru

ReplyDeleteOh that wire dish drainer is adorable!! I love it with dishes and ironstone containers for holding the flatware to dry.
ReplyDeleteFABBY
Adore this piece. Would of picked it up also! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh yes...........I love that too! I love how the white looks against the wire. I think you'll enjoy using that. I've seen those for sale before but they aren't cheap! Great find!
ReplyDeleteI love vintage dish drains. What you've done with it is so charming. I've seen them used in an office for folders and pencils. I would use mine in the kitchen sink for draining dishes, of all things. :)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love it! Especially with your dishes :)Robin
ReplyDeleteOh that is a really nice dish drainer. You're right that they are great for displaying dishes. I think I'd be careful not to use it as a real drainer as apparently dishes get chipped easily on the metal. I guess that's why Rubbermaid designed them with a rubber coating and perhaps why so many vintage dishes are chipped. :( Lovely vignette.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice, I love it for just what it is intended. It looks so pretty with your pieces of china and silver along with the little hearts..How lucky you are to work in a shop like that, but I could see it could be dangerous!!..Happy Wednesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that? I love it. Your vignettes are so pretty.

I have a little dish drainer in one of the boxes of my Ikea Expedit. It is holding little books. If I had more space in my little corner of the studio, I would love something like it to hold supplies.
