I've decided it's time to adopt the practice
of selling something when I bring another item home.
So when I found this fabulous arched window
with the original glass, I took the sign
above my buffet to the shop.
I admit...
I'm a sucker for architectural anything
that's a little bit different from the ordinary.
I think the window makes a light and perfect backdrop
for just about any vignette.
I found a bundle of French tattered books
in a color I love.
Hmmmm...
I wonder what I can sell in place of these?
Back to the window...
I like how the height of it on the buffet draws the eye up...it
makes a great focal point on this wall.
Propping the window, instead of hanging it,
gives the option of easily moving it...
just in case!
Oh, did I tell you...
I found this window at one of my favorite shops,
Bella Villa, in Aldie, Virginia.
If you visit, tell them I sent you!
I always appreciate you all stopping by,
Mary Alice

What a beautiful window!!!
ReplyDeleteI prop instead of hang, often - for the exact same reason - things are constantly on the move in my home!
Hugs,
Suzan
I love the arched window! It adds such an interesting architectural element. I like how you leaned it up against the wall, too. Great find!
ReplyDeletethis is just so beautiful, what a great find! It looks perfect on your buffet!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks lovely.I like your style. I've been looking for such a long time for a window that I like but I want a small one, most are too big if they are real. Most I see small enough are reproductions. Your's is gorgeous in your beautiful home.
ReplyDeleteLove the window! Perfect to kick off Spring!!!!

Be still my heart! Such a gorgeous way to start the day. I love your new window and everything you have with it. Yummy subtle colors. Really everything I love.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Mary Alice! I love it propped on your buffet, too.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very luvly window Mary Alice. Perfect to showcase a lighter Spring decor.
ReplyDeleteI too am a proper for the same reason. I tend to move things quite often. I am learning.... when I acquire something new... something has to leave. I must get busy getting things together for the shop as well.
Cheers, Gee
I love to go junking in our travels because of all the new territory to explore, but DH isn't into it at all. If I go, I go alone, but then there's the question of "how do I get this home", since we're in the RV. Of course, I have been known to haul a one door jelly cupboared home from Indiana!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Loving your style. That window really sets everything off.
ReplyDeleteFeel free to link up with me for Moonshine Monday! I'd love for you to share this!
Thanks!

ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful window and looks lovely on your buffet. A really nice find!
ReplyDeleteI think that's a great rule to live by: in order to bring something in you have to take something out. Brilliant! The window is, of course, perfect over your buffet. I adore the way you use linens in your vignettes...adds the perfect finishing touch.

Totally beautiful! I am trying to operate under the same policy. If I bring something new home, I have to sell something else! I am wanting a "cleaner" look. A hard look to achieve for a collector like me! Life to the full, Melissa @ DaisyMaeBelle

ReplyDeleteOkay, what do I like the most?
ReplyDelete1. the arched window - just wonderful
2. the scale with the books - going to copy that idea
3. the great shaped pitcher (vase?) filled with fern leaves.
it is all great - and do I see stairs both up and down? I can't keep one floor clean. Do you really have 3 stories?
