Vintage Berry Tote

I've been lightening and brightening my home
this week...some pre-spring changes.

I thought I'd have some fun playing with this
vintage berry tote...before taking it to the shop to sell.

Filling it with lots of whites and touches of green
creates a nice contrast with the wood.

Did you notice the beautiful curved wooden handle?

I know I can't keep everything...problem is,
I'm really liking this berry tote.

Yikes...
I need to find something else to sell.

Here's to the coming of Spring!!

Blessings,

Mary Alice

  1. Mary Alice, I'm sorry, but you might have to keep that one! It looks perfect there! My favorite look-rustic mixed with some 'pretties.' :) Also, love that gorgeous mantel!

  4. Hi Mary Alice, Your berry tote brings back memories. It makes you always wonder what happen to the vintage pieces that people look at you as though you lost your mind. I love vintage and seeing some of the different pieces makes me think of yester year. I sometimes think I would like to go back. Just kidding, I know we can't. You want Spring and we are getting snow. Have a wonderful day. Your Missouri Friend.

  16. I have never seen a berry tote and it is charming Mary Alice. It is difficult to sell treasures like that.

  17. Keep the berry tray!! Useful, perfect for every season, vignette heaven, counts as storage, and....well it's just awesome! You have no choice. You gotta keep this one. :) Your table looks wonderful. Love the lids, and white with all the greenery!!

  18. I do the same thing. I buy things TO SELL and then I KEEP.... ugh! It is so hard sometimes. I made a new rule that when I buy something and keep it, I have to get rid of something else! That way I can enjoy the new things for a short while. Try it!!!

  23. Your room is so pretty with its Spring colors. Blue and yellow are perfect during the warm weather. Love your berry tote. I don't blame you for wanting to keep it. Sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do and NOT sell it! LOL!

  25. So pretty and feminine. I wouldn't sell the berry tote (unless you want to sell it to me -- that would be just fine!). Love the whole room!

  26. Your room looks very cheerful now with the spring touches, Mary Alice. I don't think I could part with that berry tote either. Just remind yourself how unique it is and that you may not find another. :)

  28. Your rustic berry tote is a nice contrast to your pretty yellow sofa, but I'm having a hard time looking at the tote with those cute chairs in the fireplace looking at me. :)

Couldn't you find something of your husband's to sell instead?

  29. Oh No, don't sale the tote!!! I love it and sold one once that I wish I hadn't sold. Fill it with stacks and stacks of white dishes and just sit back and stare.

    Beautiful!!!

  30. I would have a hard time parting with that particular tote. It's very unusual and it's in amazing shape. I agree. Find something else to sell and keep this piece, at least for awhile.

  31. The contrast of the darker wood from the tote with the white ironstone is wonderful. Add in the greenery and you have my favorite vignette. Great reminder that spring will soon be here!!

  32. Oh...my...gosh....I was here and read your post on your little French sink, but I neglected to scroll through your previous posts. Well...I did that today, and what a treat!!! Your house is amazing! I absolutely LOVE it! Love all the crusty, chipped up, doors, hinges, columns, shutters, ironstone, etc. I'm in Heaven!!
I always wonder if anyone else "really" lives with all of this stuff in there house...and here you are!
I'm NOT alone!!! Yay!! Wait until I show my husband, you're worse than me!!! and I mean that in a good way. lol.
    You are awesome, Mary Alice!!
    Oh, don't sell the tote.

  33. You m'y friend are definitely valued and by far not worthless. :)
Thank you for taking the time to visit and your comments always joy me to a deepest level.
I love that fireplace mantel, I have always wanted one of my own, but have yet to stumble across that one with the right kind of rightness as yours displays.
I did find one, in vintage English pine that I used in a model home as a headboard to a full size bed, I button tuff the center opening with a great piece of fabric onto a piece of plywood then attaching the piece in the opening to then mount the whole mantled piece to the wall, what a beautiful statement it made.
Your piece inspires your room daily I am sure of that.

Thank you for adding beauty to my weekend, looking to you as inspiration.
